About DatedProof
DatedProof is a small, independent project. We make free photo tools and plain-English guides for people who need to show what something looked like, and when: a damaged rental car, a security deposit, a short-term rental, a photo someone doubts.
What we do
- Tools that run on your device. The photo date checker and the date stamp tool work in your browser. Photos are never uploaded to us.
- Guides with sources. Each guide links to the official pages and primary sources behind its claims. Where we could not verify something, we left it out.
- An app we may build. A camera app for iPhone that stamps and signs photos when you take them. It is not available yet; the waitlist tells us whether to build it.
What we are not
We are not a law firm and nothing here is legal advice. We are not a forensic lab: the photo date checker looks for simple warning signs and cannot prove that a photo is genuine or that a date is true. Rules and company policies change, so check the current version before you rely on any of it.
Corrections and contact
If something on this site is wrong or out of date, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix it. The same address handles waitlist removals and privacy questions. Every guide shows the date it was last updated.
