An iPhone camera for photos you may need to explain later: move-out, rental cars, short-term rentals.
The app does not exist yet. There is nothing to download, no beta, and no release date. This page describes what we plan to build, and the form below tells us whether it is worth building.
What it will do
- Stamp the date, time and GPS location on a photo as you take it, and store them in the file.
- Sign a fingerprint (hash) of every photo at the moment of capture, so that a later change to the file can be detected.
- Guided shot lists for a move-out or move-in, a rental car pickup and return, and a short-term rental check-in and check-out, so you do not forget the corner you needed later.
- A PDF report that puts the photos, times and signatures in one document you can send.
- A one-time purchase. No weekly subscription.
What it will not do
No app can make a photo “win” a dispute. A signed photo can show that a file has not changed since it was signed. It cannot show that the scene was not staged, and it cannot make anyone accept the photo. How the app will check the time (the phone's own clock, or an independent source) is something we are still designing, and when it is built we will say plainly what it does and does not prove.
Until then, the free tools and guides on this site work with the photos you already have: the photo date checker, the date stamp tool and the guide to proving when a photo was taken.
